GO TO BED
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux
A short horror game about going to bed. Can you successfully pass each situation?
Controls:
Move - WASD
Interact - E
Quit to Menu - ESC Key
This game was made in 2 weeks for the "DreadXP End of Summer Bone Jam".
FOR MAC USERS:
If you are using mac and are having trouble running the game off of the download it is recommended to download the game using the itch.io app instead. (Download App - itch.io). If that doesn't work then it's possible the files that are uploaded aren't properly formatted as I had to do it on Windows. Hopefully I can find a permanent fix in the future.
-UPDATE-
Now that the jam is over I have released an updated version of the game. There are no major additions so as to keep the game true to the jam/time frame. Changes included are:
-Adjustments to volume levels.
-Additional text to clear up potential confusion.
-Slight adjustments to light levels in certain areas.
-Fixes to collision and player physics.
Thank you so much to everyone for playing!

🚀 Complete Gameplay Ready to Play! 🎉
It's Time To Go To Bed But Did You Remember To Lock Up?
Did I Trap MYSELF?? 😭
This was a tricky one! I really liked it, great game! I got so freaked out LOLHello, I'm writing to inform you that I'm a college student who, as a part of a college-level class dedicated to video game storytelling, I did a presentation/"screening" of various itch.io games, and yours was one of the ones we played through in class.
It was the most popular as well! Absolutely nobody saw the twist coming and loved it.
HI there! I had a lot of fun playing! It really messed with me and gave me the creeps! Here's my full gameplay! :)
Excellent game
Escaped. Dope.
I played “GO TO BED” and really liked its slow-building sense of fear.
It was fascinating when I started to realize my own situation halfway through,
and the final question after going to bed gave me an uneasy feeling that lingered afterward.
Hello JoeTheItchPro,
My name is Satoshi Konaka, and I run a small YouTube channel called “shibazusi.”
I really enjoyed your game “GO TO BED” and would like to ask for your permission to record and upload gameplay videos of it.
At the moment, my channel is not monetized, but I may apply for the YouTube Partner Program in the future.
If possible, could you please let me know whether it is acceptable to:
1. Upload gameplay/commentary videos of “GO TO BED,” and
2. Monetize those videos in the future (with full credit and a link to your itch.io page)?
Of course, I will always include proper credit in the video description and link directly to your itch.io page.
I would like to faithfully capture and convey the same atmosphere that made this game so unique.
Thank you very much for your time and for creating such a wonderful game.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Satoshi Konaka

I really appreciate your permission and support.

When i realised what was actually happening I was like this is so cool
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I loved the game, I didn't expect those features, more games like this pls
I'm glad you loved it! I do have another game with a similar vibe that's almost complete, so be on the look out!
Thanks for checking it out and doing a video! It was done for a gamejam, so it's on the short side...but maybe a sequel is in order ;)
Thank you for the opportunity! I really enjoyed this concept, I hope a sequel is coming. I’ll be on the lookout for the next release as well!! Until next time Joe :)
It's a decent horror game.Pretty interesting and creepy but it's a pretty good game for those who always prepare before bed time.
Thank you! Good gameplay video!
this was terrifying, really had me on the edge. great job!
for some reason i cannot use my mouse or controller, when i move the mouse around it glitches all over then gets stuck, ive tried both versions and a few methods of troubleshooting and it wont work.
Hello! The game is not optimized for controller well, so don't go for that haha. I would check your mouse sensitivity settings on your pc. This game was made in 2 weeks, so things like additional mouse settings were pass up on and I apologize for the inconvenience.
This was a fun short game. RIP to the people in the basement that didn't make it.
Am I mistaken, I need something to run this game on Linux?
Hello! So I am not very knowledgeable on Linux systems, but the download labeled (Linux) should be what you need. People have also had success downloading the itch.io app first, and then downloading the game through the itch.io app.
Nice unexpected twist at the end! Had me thinking.
Ttdhjnbbnnn
Couldn't have said it better myself.
